Margo Johnson, Special Education Teacher

My name is Margo Johnson and I am the Special Education/Student Support Services teacher. This is my eleventh year teaching. I have taught various types of Special Education, seventh and eight grade reading and language arts, and 2 years ago I taught fifth grade at Mariposa Academy.

Ashley Norman, 1st Grade Bilingual Teacher

I am learning a lot in my first year of teaching in the Spanish Kindergarten class! I recently graduated from the University of Nevada Reno in Elementary and Special Education. I was fortunate enough to study Spanish in Costa Rica for a semester in 2004 and I’ve made various trips back to visit friends there. I love to salsa dance and watch movies, shop, drink coffee and write. I enjoy working with students in Kindergarten and am constantly learning new things in Spanish.

I was born in raised in California and then moved to Nevada. I just graduated from UNR last spring and enjoy teaching the English Kindergarten Class! I live with my husband Bryce. I enjoy traveling, hiking, and reading.

Alan Montesinos, 3rd Grade Bilingual Teacher

My name is Alan Montesinos and I am from Mexico City. I studied Pedagogy at the National Autonomus University of Mexico and obtained a Masters in Multicultural and Bilingual Education at the University of West Florida. I have taught and held administrative positions in private schools in Mexico for 8 years. This is my first year working in the United States as an exchange teacher. My goal is to prepare students to face the challenges of our world by helping them to achieve happiness and success in everything they do while valuing cultural differences.

Mi nombre es Alan Montesinos y soy de la Ciudad de Mexico. Soy Licenciado en Pedagogía por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México y Maestro en Educación Multicultural y Bilingüe por la University of West Florida. He trabajado como profesor y he desempeñado puestos administrativos en escuelas privadas en México por 8 años. Este es mi primer año trabajando en los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica como profesor de intercambio. Mi objetivo es preparar a los estudiantes para enfrentar los retos de nuestro mundo ayudándolos a ser felices y exitosos en lo que ellos hagan, valorando las diferencias culturales.
