Students from ACE High School presented Mariposa Academy with a newly constructed “Buddy Bench”. The benches were designed and constructed by the high school students. The Buddy Bench movement is part of a national anti-bullying effort. The Mariposa Buddy Bench was placed on our playground for students to use if they need someone to play or talk with. It gives students the opportunity to let their friends know they need a little help.
The effort is spearheaded by WGU Nevada, who sponsored the materials for each bench, and Nevada State Contractors Board, which promotes construction education and integrity to ensure a bright future for the northern Nevada construction and development industry.
