The Mariposa garden started nearly 15 years ago in collaboration with the University of Nevada, Reno Extension. The garden provides a hands-on learning space where students can learn about nutrition, plant science, where food comes from, and how it grows. The garden can also serve as a classroom extension for additional areas of learning, such as art, science, language arts, and so much more. Educators and Master Gardeners from Extension help keep the garden growing and provide nutrition education to Mariposa students.
