Mariposa families, we continue to evaluate the air quality and our ability to support in-person learning. Due to the air quality and space limitations for indoor recess etc., Mariposa will be on a DISTANCE LEARNING day tomorrow. Teachers and staff will be in touch via Class Dojo or by phone to provide students and families with the learning expectations for the day. La Academia Mariposa ABRIRA mañana para las familias que deseen traer a sus hijos a la escuela. Evaluaremos la calidad del aire y ajustaremos los espacios interiores según sea necesario para el recreo. Por favor, tome la decisión que mejor se ajuste a sus necesidades, pero estamos aquí para apoyarlo a usted y a sus hijos.
Mariposa will be OPEN tomorrow for families that would like to bring their children to school. We will evaluate air quality and adjust recess for indoor spaces as needed. Please make whatever decision meets your needs, but we are here to support you and your children.

THANK YOU Mr. & Mrs. Stanko of Champion Chevrolet for their generosity & kindness! Students will each have personal learning materials for back to school. There will be smiles on the faces of our 160 students because of your generous donation and care!
As we prepare to begin our school year, we wanted to follow up on the messages we have been sending and our plans at Mariposa. Based on our electronic family survey and our phone call surveys, approximately 90% of families at Mariposa indicated that they would like to come back to the building 5 days a week for learning with restrictions and policies in place. Using this data, we have made a plan for students and staff to focus on student learning 5 days a week in our building.
Distance learning at Mariposa is an option for extenuating circumstances for students who are unable to return to the school building due to health/safety. If a family believes their child needs a distance learning option due to health concerns or other extenuating circumstances, during our family connection calls next week, they can let their teacher know. Mrs. Hunt will meet with families to evaluate the concern and possibly make a Mariposa distance learning plan for students.
Distance learning will NOT be a “bingo card” model like the spring. Students and families will be provided with the grade level instructional materials that align to state standards from daily work in the classroom. Families and students will be responsible for connecting with the school in ways such as ZOOM meetings, phone calls etc. and this MUST occur on a daily basis. The daily support calls will be for students to get lessons or assistance with their work from a certified teacher. Students must be available to engage in possible ZOOM classroom discussions and lessons during their school day from 8:00am-3:00pm. The school will provide the student with the materials needed for distance learning including electronic devices and families will also need to be available to pick up learning materials from the school building. All grading and attendance policies will be in effect for distance learning students. Also, it is highly recommended that if families choose this option, they stay on distance learning until the end of the first trimester.
